“Man’s best friend” can make us feel better just by being around. We smile, laugh, give and receive love and affection. Dogs can comfort us as a companion when we are going through a challenging time. This modality of using dogs for fun, laughter, and relaxation is called Animal Assisted Activities (AAA). There are other ways our faithful four-legged friends come to our relief in their capacity as a “therapist” via what is referred to as Animal Assisted Therapies (AAT). In this role, dogs can work in conjunction within a clinical or controlled setting to assist licensed/certified healthcare professionals on specific targeted goals. These dogs can complete treatment plans for various disabilities that are able to reduce anxiety though touch, provide mobility assistance, and redirect negative behavior.
Our Dream Fetchers go out into the community and offer either AAA or AAT to any facility, school, program, or project in need. We will work together with you to design and coordinate visits to support a curriculum, treatment plan, all day event, or show that best fit your overall needs. From laughter and snuggles to goal orientated outcome, we devise a program and schedule sessions for how the dogs can best contribute to your entity.
